Couples Therapy
Our relationship with our partner is profoundly important for our well being - emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. Yet every relationship experiences times of conflict which can be highly distressing and painful to the couple concerned.
Often the couple can resolve the conflict themselves. At other times, couples feel stuck, unable to hear each other or to ask for what they need, without the conflict escalating. At this point, couples will often start to withdraw from each other to avoid the arguments, or, more commonly, one partner withdraws, while the other keeps attempting to pull them back in to relating.
Getting to understand this negative cycle and the feelings and needs underlying it can change the relationship dynamics in a deep and lasting way, thereby restoring intimacy and understanding in the relationship.

Brief Counselling
Some issues can be resolved quite readily with specific strategies, or just by having the opportunity to talk things through with an empathic listener.
Longer Term Counselling
Other issues may be more complex, sometimes deriving from early family situations, involving old patterns of behaviour and beliefs, which you now want to understand more fully, and to change.
